We have had an amazing experience; two Buddhists visited West Meadows Primary School; Dharmamayi and Garava! First, we experienced a fun filled assembly retelling the story of Buddha with drama role play. We also learned about special symbols and what they mean to a Buddhist. Each class took part in a workshop where they learned about the history of Buddhism through art work, the pupils discovered new artefacts and how they were used, team games where children put giant jigsaw puzzles together showing different images from the faith, a quiz where the children learned the main beliefs of this special way of life and finally the peaceful meditation. We had a wonderful day and would like to thank our special visitors for delivering an insightful and terrific workshop. Many thanks also go to Mrs. Evans – our driving force in RE. A superb experience for our wonderful children.
