Sensational work from Year 1! They have been working hard on their Glockenspiel skills with Mr. Ormondroyd and are sounding absolutely terrific. Our marvellous musicians even enjoy the limelight by way of playing solos. Enjoy their progress here. A great effort so far.

Harvest 2018

We staged our annual Harvest Festival at St. Peter’s Church Hoyland in front of a wonderfully supportive congregation. Children from EYFS 2 and Years 1-2 gave a superb performance of art, poetry, prayer and song to celebrate the fruits of the earth. Many thanks to Mrs. Evans for her coordination of this event – it was simply beautiful. Thanks to all Staff for their support of the event not least Mr. Ormondroyd for the musical accompaniment and Mr. Smith for the film. Thank you to Father Richard and Father Paul for allowing us to utilise our beautiful Church and special thanks to our #WonderfulCommunity for your support and attendance. Well done to everyone involved in this fabulous service; some wonderful messages were shared in a charming, creative and engaging way.

Super Stories

We were lucky to host a visit from Helen, http://www.yorkshirestoryteller.com, to finish our reading week work at West Meadows. Helen had prepared her version of The Lost Happy Endings and entertained all children from Year s1-6 with an unforgettable performance. Mrs. Evans commented, “This is the perfect way with which to end Reading Week. Bringing such an inspirational professional to West Meadows has proven to be a great treat for our lovely children.” A huge thanks goes to Mrs. Fitzsimmons for her work during the week and of course well done to all of our children for their efforts. Seeing English and story providing such creative artistic activities has been wonderful.
