Fabulous Families

What a way to end our year. We invited all of our wonderful families in to school to share a last day picnic. Our Year 6 superstar captured some of the event using our drone camera.  A brilliant way to end the year, our picnic was enjoyed by all. Thank you to everyone who was able to support the afternoon. Have a restful, exciting and safe summer.

Graduation Time

Our Class of 2018 from the Unique Me Workshops have graduated at West Meadows. The parents have been working with Kath and Natalie from the Forge Community Partnership in school over several weeks. The work has boosted parenting, confidence and built further links within our #WonderfulCommunity. Thanks to Kath and Natalie as well as our very own Mrs. Maree for the support provided. Really well done to all of the graduates. We are extremely proud of your commitment to a superb course.

Bake Off 2018

WOW! Our #WonderfulCommunity have come up trumps! AGAIN….. Our incomparable Mrs. Evans has led the school in our charity bake off for the Lily Grace Cunliffe Foundation. And goodness me…… An astonishing sum (over £500) has been raised. Thank you to everyone for your donations, spending, baking, enthusiasm and most of all support. A special mention to Mrs. Evans – a sensational achievement.

Cook & Eat 2017

Session one of Cook and Eat looked to be extremely tasty! Several members of our #WonderfulCommunity teamed up to produce a delicious looking (and tantalising smelling) Bolognaise alongside the Forge Community Partnership and our in-house community team. It was great to see so many enthusiastic families in school – Mrs. Maree didn’t have to tell them off once! Look out for more tasty and healthy culinary delights coming soon.

Macmillan Supporters

What a day! Our #WonderfulCommunity have again been raising funds for the wonderful Macmillan Cancer Care. Our magnificent PTA hosted an amazing morning where our School Hall was transformed in to the West Meadows Coffee Shop. Our non-uniform was dominated by green of course! Thank you to Mrs. Maree & our amazing Parents for the day – a special way to celebrate a wonderful charity. We managed to raise a magnificent £447.97 which has been deposited directly in to Macmillan’s account. This means over the last two events we have raised over £1000 – a magnificent and generous effort!

Captain’s Table 2017

MANY thanks to Mrs. Beever & Mrs. Maree for organising the 2017 Captain’s Table. Our 100% Attendees had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the adults waiting on them! They had a special bun and a present to thank them for their 100% commitment to West Meadows – next year we’re hoping for even more children to qualify! Well done everyone, a brilliant achievement.

Heart Start 2017

Some of our parents attended the Heart Start Workshop that was hosted by The Forge Community Partnership. They were taught how to place someone in the recovery position, to know when and how to perform CPR as well as how to deal with a suspected heart attack. Well done to our parents who participated enthusiastically and have gained valuable life saving skills.

Special Assembly – Ash Wednesday

We welcomed Father Richard and Father Paul (our new Curate, Fr Paul Mellars.  Fr Paul will be serving the parish benefice of St Peter’s and St Andrew’s) to a Special Assembly. We heard about the Christian Period of Lent (40 days and 40 nights) and discussed what people may give up for the build up to Easter. Father Paul then explained why Christians are marked with the sign of the cross in Ash from burned palm leaves. Welcome Father Paul and as always thank you Father Richard for your ongoing support of our school.
