Key Stage 2 Cross Country 2017

We had a fantastic afternoon at Hoyland Common in the first Locality competition of the year, the Key Stage 2 Cross Country! Welcome Bruuuuuucccccceeeeee Dyer

We are delighted to welcome Barnsley FC legend Bruce Dyer to West Meadows. Bruce will run an after-school club where children will get the opportunity to work with himself and other coaches from his Love Life Sports Team. Bruce explained to the children about the right choices that he has made in life and about the possibilities and opportunities that hard work can provide. We can’t wait to work with Bruce – enjoy some of his special career moments here. Thank you for coming to see us Bruce, not every day do we get to see shirts from legends such as David Beckham, Steven Gerrard and of course yourself!

Rounders 2017

We attended our final competition of the year; Rounders hosted by Birdwell.  The children were simply amazing from ball one, winning all three group fixtures comfortably to ease through to a final showdown against the hosts Birdwell.  A fantastic batting display saw us set a target of 7 points.  The children followed up the batting with an even better display in the field with run out after run out, restricting Birdwell to just the three points! What a way to finish the school year, also meaning we have won the Rounders competition three out of the last four years! Well done to all involved – and a special thank you to the wonderful Mr. Smith!

Huge thanks goes to ‘BikeIt Dave’ for his work and support with our children throughout the school year, we couldn’t have done it without him!

Fabulous Freestyle

What an amazing day we’ve had here at West Meadows! What a privilege it’s been to have football freestyle world record holder Ash Randall in school all day. Children have watched Ash perform has tricks in assembly this morning and have then had the chance to try them out for themselves! We’ve been so impressed at how well the children listened and learned and how quick they were able to perform some of the tricks, some you will have seen on twitter!

Once again, a huge thank you to Ash for giving up his time and spending what’s been another action-packed day here at West Meadows!
