Many thanks to Father Paul who visited us to discuss the celebration of Pentecost, the Christian holiday of Pentecost [the] fiftieth [day]”) is celebrated 50 days from Easter Sunday. It is also the tenth day after Ascension Thursday. The Christian Pentecost is based on the New Testament, where it refers to the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ. The descent of the Holy Spirit occurred while the Apostles were celebrating the Feast of Weeks, a prominent feast in the calendar of ancient Israel celebrating the giving of the Law to Moses at Sinai. Father Paul symbolised the Holy Spirit with the use of Popcorn – this certainly pleased our highly engaged children. A super morning Father Paul. Many thanks also to Chris who led us in reflection to begin the Assembly.
