At West Meadow Primary School, keeping our children safe is of vital importance and we are strongly committed to safeguarding.

Safeguarding in school is everyone’s responsibility: all staff, governors and volunteers play their part in keeping our children safe. At West Meadows, we have a child-centred approach to safeguarding and seek to develop a clear understanding of the needs, wishes, views and voices of all of our children.

Our designated safeguarding lead is Miss Rebecca Marsh  and our designated safeguarding governor is Mrs Paula Wardle. Our deputy safeguarding leads are Miss K. Jobling (SENDCo), Miss K. Galbraith (Assistant Headteacher) and Mrs C. Maree (PSA). Together, we make up the designated safeguarding team in school.

As a school we use CPOMS to securely record safeguarding and behaviour. We work as a team to formally review cases on a monthly basis and meet with our Safeguarding Governor at least termly to review safeguarding policies and processes in school.

A full copy of our Safeguarding Policy can be found in the policies section of our school website.

If you have any concerns about either your own child or another child in school, please do not hesitate to come into school and speak to us. We are always happy to help.
