This week in science we made serious slime. We followed instructions carefully to create our own slime. We collected all our equipment and measured accurately all our items. We had great fun and the slime was really gloopy. The science behind the fun – PVA stands for polyvinyl acetate, which is a liquid polymer. This is a chemical compound with rubbery, elastic qualities because of the way the molecules are chained together. The Borax substitute links these chains to produce even more elasticity. The result is something you can mould with your hands or leave on a flat surface, where it will ooze into a puddle!
