Some wonderful engineering in Year 4! Before we could build our structures, the children had to learn how to strengthen and stiffen paper so that it was strong enough to use. Firstly, we tested the paper to see if it would hold a glue stick. No way! The children worked in groups discussing and planning how to make their paper stronger. They used natural resources: card, paper, lolly sticks and tape. The children worked well as a group and came up with some great ideas. We then evaluated our work and worked out what we needed to do to the ones that weren’t strong enough. Well done everyone, check the highlights out here!
